Tyrannosauroid integument composite

Description

At the time of writing, this represents a hypothetical one-size-fits-all integument that would be technically accurate for everything from Yutyrannus to Tyrannosaurus, but note that I would not consider this the most likely scenario for either. It is likely however that an animal intermediate between the two (such as the Appalachiosaurus pictured) would possess a transitional covering as shown.

Additional note: the scales on the illustration have been exaggerated on the areas they are preserved to denote their presence. In reality, the reticulae are so tiny they'd be indescribable from this distance.

Well I have a friend who has direct contact with Carr and he told me Carr revealed that scaly impressions were found on the beck of the neck and on the actual back of a T. rex in Montana (since it is not published I do not expect you to believe me over night). And before you ask: the friend is not Arsen (not that it would make the info less believeble).

Besides why did you not use Detrich's (I think that is the name) skin impression? It was supposedly found on the neck of a T. rex and it looks more like the skin of a duck that had it's feathers pulled off than the various scaly impressions. Since it is from the actual T. rex I think it would make your conclusions more believeble when talking about tyrannosaurids as well (sure, there are also scaly imprints on the neck, but this only makes it more interesting).
