Jurassic Park 2016 - Gallimimus by Tomozaurus Jurassic Park 2016 - Gallimimus by Tomozaurus
Gallimimus bullatus
Wacom Tablet + Adobe Photoshop Elements 5
2016

Jurassic Park 2016 is a series of images depicting the extinct animals from Jurassic Park (1993) as we know them to look today.

Gallimimus is huge. The JP version is actually too small! The one I have depicted here is not even as large as the biggest specimens we know. It also has a really long torso, the JP version is much too compact.

Literally a giant Emu with arms and a tail. Good drawing.

YES, AN ACTUAL GALLIMIMUS!

Needs bigger wings, though.

I thought it would have dromaeosaur-esque wings.

Oh, well. Learn something new everyday.

I thought Gallimimus had big floofy feathers on its arms

There is one ornithomimid specimen that preserves calamus scars on the forearm. The van der Reest 2015 paper uses calamus width to length ratios to predict these feathers were 3 times the length of the body feathers. This is what I have illustrated here.

Really love this series :)

The biggest specimens you mentioned, weren't those about 8 meters in length?

Oh cool! Are you going to be doing all the dinosaurs from the trilogy  (Excluding the Indominus Rex because well, it's not an actual species..) Or simply the dinosaurs in the first film? Just wondering, I adore this series already
